The Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9–1) in Persian is designed to help students develop confident communication skills in Persian, both spoken and written. The course is suitable for students of different abilities, including native speakers and heritage learners, as well as students who are new to the language.

Students study a wide range of topics that are relevant to their lives and interests, such as identity and culture, school, travel, future plans, and global issues. Throughout the course, students also learn about the cultures and traditions of Persian-speaking countries and communities.

The qualification develops all four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn how to understand spoken and written Persian, take part in conversations, express opinions, and write clearly and accurately for different purposes.

Assessment is through four exams:

• Listening

• Speaking

• Reading

• Writing

Each skill is worth 25% of the final grade. Exams are available at Foundation and Higher tiers, and students must take the same tier for all papers.
